Questions

FAQ

How physically demanding is the trip?

Fitness Level: Low to Moderate — built for the curious, not the extreme.

This is a city and star-fort expedition, which means real walking is part of the experience — several hours a day, sometimes off the main path, with uneven terrain in the tunnels and the occasional flight of stairs. A sturdy pair of shoes and average mobility are essential. No technical climbing or caving gear required — just a willingness to go where the guidebooks stop.

For those with a braver resolve, an optional tunnel excursion awaits — not for the claustrophobic, but for the adventurer it will absolutely deliver. We move at a pace that works for the whole team, but come prepared for a proper old-world walk.

Special requirements? Get in touch beforehand at info@oldworldexplorers.com and we’ll help you plan around them.

This trip is all-inclusive, with a few intentional exceptions.

Included: Airport transfers, all transportation between sites, all guided tours and site passes, continental breakfast buffet daily, a light lunch each day, and evening dinner sampling local cuisine. On arrival, you’ll receive an Expedition Bag with the essentials for the journey — local SIM card, guide materials, and a few mystery extras we won’t spoil here.

Not included: alcohol and personal spending money. Select excursions can be arranged locally once you’re on-site for those who want to go further.

Bring yourself and an open mind. We’ll take care of the rest.

Secure your place: €400 deposit today. Remaining €800 paid in cash on arrival in Belgrade.

Pay your €400 deposit directly via the link on this page. The moment it clears, you’ll receive a confirmation email — your place on the expedition is locked in.

From there, your trip actually begins. You’ll be added to the private community group and sent the full itinerary, giving you weeks to get to know your guides and fellow travelers long before you ever board a plane. The remaining €800 is paid in cash on arrival — if you’d prefer a different method, just get in touch once your place is confirmed and we’ll work it out.

Only 16 spaces available. Once they’re gone, the next chance is the next expedition.

Our tours are for anyone with questions — especially those just beginning their journey. “Waking up” can be a lonely experience. We exist to change that, bringing together like-minded people at every knowledge level, from the newly curious to the deeply read.

And it goes both ways — we learn as much from our guests as they learn from us. Our expeditions cover everything you need to know to get started, and leave the door wide open for you to investigate what we don’t.

We cap every expedition at 16 explorers — because the experience is the expedition.

Ask anyone who’s traveled with us and they’ll tell you the same thing: the sites are extraordinary, but it’s the people who make the trip. Sixteen means real conversations, not a crowd trailing a flag. It means your guides know your name by day two. It means the person next to you in the tunnel becomes the person you’re still messaging six months later.

We keep it small on purpose — small enough that everyone gets access, gets heard, and leaves with more than photos. Sixteen like-minded people in one place, all asking the same questions you are. That’s the part no one tells you about until they’ve already been.

Only 16 spots for Serbia, October 2026.

Reserve with a €400 deposit below. You’ll get access to our private tour mates community and a welcome kit when you arrive. The remaining €800 is due on arrival in Belgrade.
